Updates and Insights: Standards Overview, Inline Lesson Editing, and Enhanced Course Description

May 18, 2026

We're thrilled to share a set of powerful new Atlas enhancements designed to make curriculum planning, analysis, and management faster, clearer, and more intuitive.

From deeper insights in the Standards Overview, to streamlined lesson planning in the Lesson Plan Editor, and greater control in the Course Description Report, these updates help you work more efficiently while staying focused on teaching and learning.

Working with data often creates a familiar challenge: you can filter and narrow your results, but once you want to dig deeper into what those results actually mean, you're forced to jump between views or rebuild context from scratch. That back-and-forth slows down analysis and makes it harder to stay focused on the work itself.

The new Standards Overview report, now available directly within the Standards Analysis page, is designed to remove that friction by connecting high-level filtering with detailed insight in a single flow.

From applying filters to build a focused set of standards, to generating a comprehensive Standards Overview, gone are the days of losing context while navigating across views Atlas conveniently carries your selection forward and immediately presents a structured breakdown of alignment data.

This gives you a clearer way to compare standards sets, evaluate coverage, and explore relationships in depth, without having to rework your filters or rebuild your view.

To support different working styles, the report can be surfaced as a quick pop-up modal — giving fast insight — or expanded into full-screen mode for a deeper and more detailed review.

And while this expands analytical capability, it keeps your workflow intact: advanced filters remain available, your selections are preserved, and you can move smoothly from exploration to detail without disruption.

Lesson Plan Editor Enhancements Lesson Plan Editor Enhancements

Lesson planning often turns into a chain of small interruptions: jumping between settings, double-checking dates, and trying to stay oriented while making simple updates.

To reduce that friction, we've upgraded the Lesson Plan Editor in Atlas, so everything you need is available right where you're working.

Quickly update a lesson's unit directly from the editor using the Unit dropdown, without needing to leave the page or open any settings. Inline unit editing offers a faster, more natural way to adjust your plan without breaking focus.

Additionally, a new Unit Date Display shows the full instructional window (start and end dates) at a glance, helping you immediately confirm that each lesson is aligned with the correct schedule and reducing the chance of timing errors.

Together, these enhancements keep lesson planning streamlined, flexible, and transparent. Reduce clicks, increase clarity, and make quicker adjustments exactly where you need them.

Administrators will also be pleased to hear about the new Course Description customization settings. Easily rename the Course Description label to match your school's terminology, add pre-populated guidance text to support teachers in writing consistent and structured descriptions, and control how this section appears within course views. These updates help ensure every course description is clear, consistent, and aligned with your school's curriculum expectations.

3. New Year Checklist.svg "Check All" at the Standards Level

When benchmarks are closely related or taught as a cluster, selecting them one by one makes no sense. The "Check All" feature in Atlas lets you instantly select an entire group of benchmarks under a single standard level with just one click.

Save time, reduce repetitive clicking, and add standards to Units, Lessons, and Assessments more efficiently than ever before. Simply choose "Check All" when adding standards to quickly apply every benchmark within that group, so you can spend less time on setup and more time focused on instruction.

*Note: This is not available for Assessments if your school uses Assessment Proficiency Levels.
